COVERAGE & ADVISORY

Coverage & Advisory division, led primarily by Financial Institutions Group Coverage (FIG Coverage), serves as the main point of contact for Japanese financial institutional clients, including banks, insurance companies, asset managers, and government-related institutions. Collaborating closely with Natixis’ global product teams, FIG Coverage provides tailored advisory services in areas such as funding, portfolio construction, capital efficiency optimization, risk management, and ESG-related investment strategies.

GLOBAL MARKETS

Our Global Markets division handles Natixis’ market-related activities, offering a wide range of products and solutions to support clients’ investment, hedging, and trading strategies across asset classes. Key business areas include: 

Macro Products

Our Macro Products team offers a comprehensive suite of interest rate and foreign exchange derivatives, as well as cash bond trading including sovereign and government-related securities across major markets. With a focus on currencies such as JPY, USD, and EUR, the desk supports a wide range of client needs – from asset allocation and funding strategies to interest rate and FX risk management. Through market analysis grounded in central bank policy, macroeconomic trends, liquidity conditions, and geopolitical developments, the team delivers precise solutions for both hedging and investment purposes. 

Credit Products

Our Credit Products team offers trading and structuring solutions across a broad range of instruments, including investment-grade and high-yield corporate bonds, financial institution debt, and credit derivatives such as CDS and credit indices. Supporting both directional and relative value strategies, the team helps clients manage credit exposure, optimize spreads, and implement hedging frameworks. In-depth market insights, credit curve analytics, and risk assessments are also provided to support informed decision-making.

Equity Derivatives (EQD)

Our Equity Derivatives (EQD) team provides a wide range of solutions linked to equity indices, single stocks, and volatility, addressing diverse needs in investment, hedging, and structured strategies. The desk supports from vanilla options to structured products, offering full-cycle support from structuring and pricing to execution.  

In addition, the team offers a Quantitative Investment Strategies (QIS) platform, catering to institutional investors seeking rule-based and transparent approaches. Strategies include factor-based investing, volatility targeting, and thematic indices. These algorithm strategies are increasingly used to complement more traditional  investment strategies,  offering consistency, transparency, and potential cost efficiency. 

Global Securities Financing (GSF)

Our Global Securities Financing (GSF) team provides comprehensive solutions for repo and securities lending, supporting institutional clients and financial institutions in funding, asset optimization, and efficient balance-sheet management. The desk is particularly active in facilitating foreign currency funding solutions and cross-border collateral optimization, leveraging Natixis’ global market access and liquidity capabilities. 

In addition, the team offers collateral swaps, enabling clients to monetize or upgrade existing holdings and generate fee-based income through customized structures. With seamless integration across front office, operations, custody, and clearing, GSF supports clients’ strategic use of assets and contributes to efficient, revenue-generating Treasury management.  

INVESTMENT BANKING

Our Investment Banking division focuses on delivering funding solutions through capital markets, offering issuers and investors sophisticated structuring and execution capabilities. Key functions include: 

Debt Capital Markets

Our Debt Capital Markets (DCM) team advises and arranges public and private bond issuances for corporates, financial institutions, and government-related entities. Our expertise spans traditional debt structures as well as ESG-linked instruments, including green bonds and sustainability-linked bonds. Drawing on Natixis’ global capabilities in structuring, distribution, and marketing for investors, we deliver tailored issuance strategies based on optimal timing, tenor, and market selection.  

The team also supports hybrid securities, multicurrency offerings, and cross-border transactions, with strong execution capabilities suited to both simple and complex capital structures. DCM is particularly active in sustainable finance, assisting issuers to align their funding strategy with ESG objectives. 

Debt Syndication

Our Debt Syndication team is responsible for managing syndicate formation and coordination for yen-denominated public and private bond issuances. Utilizing Natixis’ global distribution network, the team supports issuer needs through investor targeting, marketing strategy, pricing, and negotiation – adapting to the characteristics of each transaction and prevailing market conditions. This includes active involvement in ESG-themed bond offerings and related initiatives in the Japanese market. 

Our parent company, Groupe BPCE, has been a regular issuer in the Japanese Samurai bond market since 2012, maintaining strong relationships with local practices, Based on this foundation, the team works closely with DCM to provide high-quality syndication services for issuers seeking access to the Japanese yen bond market.
